Resources for leaders
Practical tools to run and grow your hub
Running a Be Well hub is rewarding, but it can also feel like a big responsibility. That’s why every hub leader and Champion has access to resources that make the role easier, safer, and more sustainable. These tools have been co-designed with community organisations and NHS partners, so they’re practical, evidence-based, and easy to use.
Toolkits and guides
Be Well leaders get access to toolkits that set out everything you need to run a hub. These include:
The Be Well brochure – an overview of the movement and how hubs fit in
Action plan templates – step-by-step documents to help you plan your hub’s activities
Workshop guides – ready-made ideas for running wellbeing sessions, coffee mornings, or peer groups
Campaign resources – advice on running local campaigns around housing, work, or access to healthcare
These toolkits are living documents. They are updated regularly with feedback from leaders on what works best.
Safeguarding and signposting
Every hub must be a safe place for people to share concerns. Leaders have access to clear safeguarding guidance that explains:
how to recognise when someone may be at risk
what to do in a crisis
who to contact locally for professional help
Alongside this, each borough has its own signposting sheets. These are quick-reference guides to local support services — covering everything from housing and debt advice to youth services and mental health helplines.
Training and events
Learning doesn’t stop once a hub is launched. Leaders can join regular events and training sessions to keep skills sharp and build confidence. These include:
Borough network meetings – where local hubs share updates and support each other
Communities of practice – cross-London gatherings to share challenges and solutions
Top-up training – focused sessions on topics like cultural awareness, trauma-informed approaches, or youth wellbeing
These events are also a chance to celebrate progress and hear from other leaders about what’s working in their communities.
Being part of a network
Perhaps the most valuable resource is the network itself. Be Well connects over 70 organisations across south London. By joining, you’re never working in isolation. Leaders regularly share resources, swap ideas, and build partnerships that strengthen everyone’s work.
