Be Well programme
The Be Well programme was set up in 2021 by South London Listens and community leaders. It helps tackle loneliness and poor mental health by creating safe spaces in the community
Be Well spaces are local places where people can find connection and support. They are run by trusted organisations such as community centres, schools, libraries, faith groups, health centres, football clubs and cafés.
Each Be Well space offers:
a friendly place to talk and build connections
activities to improve wellbeing and reduce isolation
practical support and signposting to other services
a chance to join with others to address local inequalities
You can see the full list of Be Well organisations further down this page.
How to start a Be Well hub
Be Well organisations are at the heart of the programme. They receive training and support to give staff and volunteers the skills to support local people.
Benefits of joining include:
helping reduce stigma around mental health
development opportunities for staff and volunteers
stronger links with the NHS and local authorities
raising your profile in your borough
If your organisation is interested in joining, you can:
read our Be Well brochure
use our Be Well toolkit
check our FAQ for how the programme works and how to apply
