Future developments

We are not stopping here. Families, community leaders and NHS partners want to build on what has worked so far and keep improving services for young people.

EarlyBIRDS project

A new approach to early intervention for 16–19 year olds.

  • Funded by the Maudsley Charity

  • Co-designed with young people to make sure it feels relevant and accessible

  • Developed with King’s College London to ensure the interventions are evidence-based

The project is testing short, practical psychological interventions that can support young people quickly, while they wait or before their needs escalate.

Working with trusted partners

We are linking with schools, colleges, youth groups and community organisations to make sure support reaches young people where they are.

This includes working with groups who know and understand the needs of young people in challenging circumstances.

Priorities moving forward

  • Launch EarlyBIRDS pilot in 2025

  • Share learning with CAMHS teams across south London

  • Embed co-design with young people in all future service development
